The Punjab government has made a new rule for private schools.
Now, every private school must give free education to 10% of its students.
This free education is for:
- Poor children
- Needy children
- Special children (children with disabilities)

To make sure this rule is followed, the government has restarted an old law called the Private Schools Ordinance 2014.
Education officers have been told to check all schools and make sure they are following the rule.
Private schools must now send a list of the students who will get free education.
The Education Ministry is doing a survey, which must finish by August 31, after the summer holidays.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said schools must follow this rule.
He also said that Punjab is opening its first autism school soon.
This school will help special children get a better education in a friendly space.
This step will help many poor and special children.
Now, they can study in private schools and have a chance at a better future.
